I''ve checked and rechecked the bedding on this instrument 5 or 6 times. Darned things been driving me crazy :) Dags hold the back rail firm, front rail is as flat as you ever could want.... no.. its not the bedding. > So, my guess would have to be an > over-flexable hammer rail, if you get movement of key neighbors with the > hammer in the mix. Thats my guess as well, and you can see the thing bending. I checked on some other pianos and found that a Young Chang does nearly the same when you hold the hammer down... a bit stiffer tho... and it doesnt have the same problem with play. A Bohemia and my giant Petrof dont respond this way at all. Hold the hammer in place and press the key and all is dead stable... sigh.. and just when I was beginning to hate Petrofs again.. :) Question is... assuming its the hammer rail... what to do about it ? Any good suggestions ? > Or, does the hammer provide enough resistance to make > the balance rail move? I guess it would depend if the neighbor hammers move > up, or down on strong blows. Well.. you cant see that on a hard blow...happens too fast...all you see is lots of movment. But blocking the hammer and pressing the key seems to be the giveaway.. or what ? > Ron Koval > > Cheers RicB -- Richard Brekne RPT, N.P.T.F.
