differenet tuning curves for the CP 70 and CP 80 (if memory serves) .

possibli the scaling changed also with different generations of these
beasts.

Joe did you use buckskin on the hammers, I can't see the artificial
leather sold separately, in fact only "Hammer assembly" is listed in
my parts manual for CP 70-80.

The leather seem to be tense on the hammers. I wonder also if it can
be surfaced, needled, etc.

Greetings.

Isaac,
Regarding the two "tuning curves" via Yamaha...it's possible they changed
the scale, but I don't think the "tuning curves" has anything to do with
that. Well, maybe. Who knows what evil lurks there!<G>
I did order the hammer "leather" separately. Matter of fact I still have
some, (probably enough for another set. I usually order things in sets of
two.) As for voicing of that stuff....as I remember I tried and found that
it was a futile effort! And, yes, the hammer covering is Tight, because the
synthetic buckskin comes with it's own adhesive back!<G> Just checked my
stock and the stuff is still very supple and I have enough for several sets
of hammers! As I recall, I ordered a bunch of the stuff because I was going
to use it in some experiments on real pianos!!!! (Oh my, use Yamaha parts on
something other than a Yamaha?!!!!!! Sacrilege!!!<G>)(I hope they don't get
wind of it!<G>)
