If it matters, I tune from A0 to C88 when doing pitch raises. I then =
start at A4 and tune down through the temperament, checking thirds and =
fourths as I go, and other tests further on through the bass. Then I go =
back to A4 and tune up to the top. Works for me. When I'm done I always =
run 17ths quickly for anything that stands out as being out of line.

After setting the FAC or selecting a factory FAC I've been tuning from =
A0=20
to C88. I don't think the sound is the same. Wayne Lutzow Lincoln, CA

Wayne,
I, for one, never tune straight from A0 to C88. I use an ETD and =
tune=20
in the same order as aural: 1.temperament area, 2.treble, 3.bass,=20
4.unisons. I occasionally test the intervals as I go along because I =
know=20
that my ears hear things the ETD cannot hear. I tell my clients that =
the=20
ETD does NOT replace listening. But it sure is a BIG help for speed =
and=20
for stability in setting the pins. "My ears have the last word." heh =
