Clyde,

Re-felting vertical hammers is very appropriate and not that
expensive, whn so manuy are yet unglued, it should be envisageable.

In Europe we have more than one source for re felting, this should may
be be envisaged by your hammer makers, it is a good service to
customers, unless on have an easy way to install vertical hammers (I
don't nknow of one).

And you certainly never complain about too hard pressing in that case.
