Wellllll,
My 12v impact screw-drive (makita) drives much more powerfully than my big 
18v Dewalt drill....  Maybe there could be an adjustable impact "tooner" 
hammer that could find the peskily narrow sweet spot.  Interface with a 
EDT? !  How soon were you planning on retiring?
