Thanks, David - I'll try the protek on the springs. The set I got that has the tight pinning problems went on my own piano, so repining them as they go bad isn't any hardship. On the second set, I measured the friction of every center before installation and marked it on the parts. In this set I found only a couple of very slightly tight flanges. - Mark -----Original Message----- From: David Love [mailto:davidlovepianos@earthlink.net] Sent: Thursday, September 25, 2003 4:33 PM To: Pianotech Subject: Re: FW: Tokiwa parts (was Steinway K Double flange) I've also had problems with Tokiwa wippens that are similar to those described. In addition, last I checked, the leading edge of the jack was not beveled causing a bit more of a bump at let off than I like and forcing the balancier to regulate higher than I would like in order to insure return. Though all of these things can be addressed, it's unfortunate that they should have to be done on a new set.
