Keith McGovern asked;

What is that object on the inside left of the piano along the rim?

Hello Keith,

 You're the second person to ask about this.That is what we call a =
humidifier. It is a perforated plastic tube filled with a =
super-absorbent material. You dip the tube in the bathtub to fill it up =
with water. Place it in the piano and the moisture is very slowly =
released. Very low tech, but it raises the humidity level by about =
another 5%. Of course whenever I come across one in a piano, there's =
never any water in them.
