Hi Joe, Thanks for the reply! I don't think so. I might have mentioned that it's frayed/fibre-y everywhere except the strike point. It almost looks like someone filed them in a way that is beyond a sloppiness I would think is possible. But the piano was formerly taken care of by someone well respected - in fact he apparently comes from NYC for a particular piano teacher in the area and schedules tunings with some of her students - so I wouldn't expect it to be careless work. - John > Very loose pinning or flange screws? > Joe Goss RPT
