when to replace ivories

Looked at a piano yesterday that had virtually no wear on the ivories and no
chips, but many dark, lengthwise cracks (almost every white key). I assume
this was caused by keys being exposed to humidity and wood expanding more
than ivory.

Question is, keep them or replace them? How well would they hold up?
