Considering the percentage of plastic in most modern cars, and the fact
that the airbags do not deploy until: a.- the car is moving (at least) 25
MPH; and, b.- the system detects a sufficiently rapid change in velocity
(usually deceleration), I think you'd discover that in most cases where the
airbags have deployed, the car itself has suffered pretty major damage, if
not been "totaled". So, the answer to your question might very well be
that they do not redo them, at least not on any regular basis, simply
because the net result of the conditions in which the airbags deploy mean
that the car is damaged (for insurance purposes) beyond repair.

Whether or not that might be indicative of what might happen with table saw
splitter guards and/or blade-stopping devices will have to wait for some
genius to manipulate enough actuarial tables.

The problem with disabling any kind of "safety" equipment (much of which,
it seems to me, introduces as much chance for injury as it protects
against), is that one can wind up uninsured. That is, if you take off
and/or disable such a system; and you (or, worse, someone else) is injured,
your insurance company can call foul, and legally refuse to pay...in CA, at
least, your actions might be considered fraud, and themselves be criminally
actionable. YMMV.

Best.
