My inclination would be to check the stringing scale. If it has been
restrung, there is a possible problem. Most "restringers" don't avail
themselves of scale evaluation and just assume replacing with exact matches
of wire, etc., will "be o.k." The biggest mistake, in this sort of thing, is
made by the string makers, when they duplicate dimensions only and don't pay
attention to the differences of wraps, etc. This one thing can be a death
knoll for a lot of nice pianos. Albeit well meaning, this sort of thing is
avoidable with sensible approaches to the intent of the design(er) and the
materials used originally. All one needs to do, is to evaluate one scale of
an olde piano that has had this sort of "re-what-ever" done, to widely open
one's eyes to the pitfalls. :-(
