  The S&S 26 Bass is alive and well (though it needs rebuilding and has =
rusty strings) and living in Brighton (England). Here are its specs:

  Stringing: 26 covered (wrapped) Bass, comprising: bottom 10 are =
single, remaining 16 are bicord remainder all tricord metals
  Sections: Four - Bass, Tenor, Treble, Top
  Agraffes: to both Bass and Tenor
  Pressure Bar: to both Treble and Top
  Action: no spring assist
  No tonebell
  No Sostenuto
