TP,
I've been tuning New Asian Pianos since the early days of my carreer,
and I must say I have gotten no sicker than I already am. Perhaps I am
the wrong person to respond as I am probably ammune.

Subject: Dangers of Asian pianos

Ok Folks, I know there must be someone out there who can knowingly
comment on this. Is it possible to contract bird flu from tuning an
Asian piano? I know this sounds like a stupid question but all it takes
according to the New York Times is some dried bird doo/dust. How much
of this could be in an Asian piano? I mean all it would take is one fly
over prior to boxing and shipping. Think about it. TP
