Damper Chirp..

Rich,

You can check each string by plucking them individually. That will tell
how well the damper felt is contacting the strings.

Sounds like something in A5 is making the G5 damper lift. Is there
something stuck in the action, or an underlever lead out?

I'm always heartened by knowing there are only a few things that it can
possibly be - there are not infinite possibilities! Most likely, you'll
have to go down the list to figure it out.
