I have a felt cover that I put over the strings on my grand. It does =
keep the dust out, but it affects the sound...especially the volume. =
Not always a bad thing though. I take it out when I have company.

My mother made it for me out of red felt in the shape of the piano and =
bordered it with black ribbon to protect the edge. She embedded bamboo =
skewers in several places locating them to bridge across the beams so =
that it wouldn't sag and touch the strings. She even thought about =
going into business selling them. Any interest?

Anyone thought about this possibilty? Would be pretty cool. Can't =
think of any fabrics that might be transparent, but maybe sheer enough =
to see through, yet keep out dirt and debris and not trap moisture?=20
