Hi Jack,
                 The simple answer is ,it can't be done outside the piano.
  Usually with a full regulation, I will set the hammer line about 5 
times.   See Gina Carter's,  and my articles on Interactive Regulation,for 
a full explanation.  It's only about 40pages long <G>
