I'm one of the ones that has been "here" since before there was a
"here" here.

I'm not sure the good old days were as great as you suggest. Be that as
it may, I have so tuned out the undesirable stuff here that I hadn't
noticed it until the Electronic Communications Committee started
talking about how the signal to noise ratio here was at an all-time
low.

I've always thought that it wasn't OT posts themselves, for example,
that were a problem so much as the inevitable following pro OT and con
OT posts.

With that in mind, I wonder if any posts to the list that suggest what
kind of posts are appropriate here might themselves be inappropriate?
Now, keep in mind this post is just asking the question -- I wouldn't
post a message myself that presumes to suggest which posts are
appropriate and which are not. That would be inappropriate. :)

Wouldn't it be nice if posts about which subjects are suitable would
themselves be considered unsuitable and stay, if they are necessary at
all, in private replies?
