Yamaha C6 bass strings ps

Sometimes the bass hammer, if it is too hard , will make the string rattle.
I use my pliers to get better control of the sound by pinching the felt from
the sides at the midpoint of the felt even with the molding at its tip.
With needles you would deep cross stitch this area.
