I don't remember the scale of a D; are there any wound strings on the treble bridge? If so, do they also buzz? If not, then maybe that points to something loose on the bass bridge. This would explain the "wound strings only" symptom, and also why replacing strings doesn't fix it. Is there another D you can swap a string with? In debugging, it's useful to try to recreate the problem in a working environment, as well as trying to fix the problem in a failing environment. It's also useful to go back and simply state your observations in as simple a way as possible, without leading towards a particular answer.
