This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hey PianoTunaGuy, Each year, when the weather is getting better and there are no slippery or frozen roads I drive my Moto Guzzi, 1000 CC California 3. It has 2 big cases on each side and taking tools with me is no problem. I drive about 11.000 kilometers each season and its for me having big fun between my tuning jobs. Traffic jam is no problem and I don't have to pay for parking places. Also economical with fuel. A liter fuel is in the Netherlands 1.30 euro! As a good motor driver I wear special clothes for protection, the only bad thing is that you have to undress your self at each costumer................ I have no problems with that! "True, I'd look a little dweebish, but then, you don't want your piano tuner showing up on a Harley" Why not? Many costumers from whom I think they could give me a bad feeling are mostly very pleased to see me on my Guzzi. Don't forget that it is very important to protect your ears. Wear ear protection ! Many regards, Edward Meijer The Netherlands -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces@ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces@ptg.org] On Behalf Of Pianotunaguy@aol.com Sent: woensdag 26 mei 2004 0:35 To: pianotech@ptg.org Subject: Re: was: Vehicle for Tuning OK, this is a bit of a non-sequitor, but nevertheless: I'm considering buying a motorscooter (Like a Vespa, 150cc) to use on my local tuning calls. 65mpg, top speed about 60. There is a storage space under the seat that would fit a rudimentary tuning kit. Most of the stuff I take with me I never use anyway. If I were efficient, I think I could fit everything I need in there. My goal would be to rack up 5.000 miles or so each summer, making my Jeep last longer, allowing me to get a little fresh air, and saving on gas all at the same time. True, I'd look a little dweebish, but then, you don't want your piano tuner showing up on a Harley. (Any Harley-riding tuners out there, no offense!) Has anybody tried this? Anybody out there on a bike? Any advice? (Like "Don't tune pianos on a rainy day.") Whaddyathink? Is it doable?
