I knew I'd get a rise out of someone.<G> I've always done it that = way and it suits me. Being a woodworker, first and foremost, the LOOK of = Lacquer can't compete with a really nice Varnish, (or Shellac/Varnish), = finish. There is a warmth to the look. As for the 10 mil coating on Yammies & Kawais, I rest my case there.<G> = Before someone jumps me about that one, . . . .Don't! I have heard a few = of both manufacturers that I like, BUT, ONLY a few. My tonal preference = is for a less strident, i.e. upper partial "wash", if you will. It's not = for everyone, as you well know.<G> Both, make quality instruments. I just like mine with a little more = "character", rather than "cookie cutter" sound/tone. I should say, just for the record, my shop is small and I do not have a = Spray Booth, as most bigger shops do. Besides, I am extremely allergic = to Lacquer Fumes! You, personally, have achieved a reputation of getting a marvelous sound = on the pianos that you do. So, I can't argue with your methods, etc. As = you said: "All this is really Subjective and fun." I agree.<G> Best Regards, Joe Garrett, R.P.T. Captain, Tool Police Squares R I ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
