If it allowed the mobility to do so, its motion can at least be measured if not
actually seen with the unaided eye. Most often the motion of the bass bridge is
tightly restricted by its location on the soundboard (and, obviously, the
physical characteristics of the soundboard assembly) and by the string
backscale.
