This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hello Jonathan First... Is the action an "over-damper" or and "under-damper"? I think = the former in the USA is called a "birdcage" Second.... Is there any "follow-through" of the damper head when the = string is depressed? Third.... Are the damper wires (the thick wire attaching the head to the = body) bent to a degree which won't allow "lift"? Fourth.... Are the damper spoons in need of regulating? Fifth..... Has some wise-guy sloshed beer in the piano and the dampers = are stuck to the strings? There are so many answers to this question - but try those for starters Regards Michael.G(UK) ----- Original Message -----=20 From: jonathan stuchell=20 To: pianotech@ptg.org=20 Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 10:57 PM Subject: dampers seated and wont release Dear list, I have a few dampers in the upper bass of an = older upright that are seated against the strings, and dont lift to = allow for string vibration.
