I just talked to my body worker and she said that we have a tendency to 
overuse our flexor muscles and it would be a good idea to balance those 
muscles with exercises that strengthen the extensors. A good example 
would be to put some rubber bands around your fingers and repeatedly 
open your hand.

Might be worth a shot. Rubber bands are cheap.
