---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment David, Greg, et. al, I see my time as an associate--however long that may be--as a time to learn. I won't advertise that I belong to the PTG in any capacity until I've passed the tests to become an RPT. Would I object to being listed on the page as an Associate member? No. But IMHO, something should be earned in order to reap the benefits of being a full-fledged member of a professional organization. Taking the tests is a bit daunting...I'll be taking the tech test later this month, and I'm nervous, even though I've done all of the procedures involved many times, both in the field and in practice sessions. And if I pass that, I'll schedule the tuning test immediately. Will that be nerve-wracking?? Yowza, boss, even though I've tuned probably 6 or 7 thousand pianos in my life. Does it eat into my personal life? More than a little. Will I be glad to be done with them and be an RPT? (insert your favorite deity here) willing, YOUBETCHA! Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Go for it.
