Hello! Some asked to see pictures of teh una corda system of my 1860 Pleyel upright piano, so here they are. The mechanism is quite simple: The left pedal pushes (via linkage) a metal rod up, located on the rigth side of the piano's case. This rod has a piece of wood covered in leather at its top. It pushes on a bronze L-shaped piece (screwed to the action frame) which turns the up-down movement into left-right movement. The L-piece pushes rigth against the end of the hammer rail which in turn moves to the left. The hammer rail is loosely connected to the action frame at its ends (via bronze gliding pieces, that bear on pieces of felt). A leaf spring (on the left side of the action frame) pushes the hammer rail back in normal position when the pedal is released.
