Haven't a clue, Greg. Raw wood is slightly susceptible to contaminants on 
the surface of saws, etc. But we're not talking about a spill. A film of 
Turtle wax seems to protect a bit better than other stuff I've tried, with 
little or no residue, and is easy to apply. Just my 2˘. Perhaps the Grizzly 
stuff is the cat's meow, and everyone should be using it. Volunteers?
