I was amazed that the long bridge extended down to D2 and = didn't sound too bad. I'm not sure why they did that nor how they did = it. That model still had 88 agraffes which didn't help the top half = octave. The hammers had to be inordinately narrow - front to back - in = order to fit between the belly rail and still strike a viable spot on = the string. =20 =20 I did enjoy the piano but it wasn't one of those "wow, I get to tune the = EN today." With the dollar and the euro being what they are, they are = very expensive. I liked it better than a Boesendorfer though. =20 dp =20 __________________________ David M. Bechstein Anyone have any experience with the "high end" Bechstein? I just tuned one (special order) at a dealership I work for. The workmanship is impeccable, but I was very underwhelmed at the bass sound! A Bechstein tech is going to be coming down to "prep" the piano. I wasn't allowed to because the Renner hammers are not hot pressed so I guess anyone that has any experience with those can't deal with the others!? Any comments?
