MessageI had the problem on my 1982 U1, especially on sharps played =
close to the fallboard. I've been told it's typical with Yamahas, =
although I haven't had your experience with recent new Yamahas I've =
tuned (mostly M500's).

  I'm surprised that Donald Dusenbury is the only person on this list, =
aside from myself, that has actually experienced this problem. And =
seeing as I have five or six of them all in the same store leads me to =
believe that this may not be that uncommon.=20

  That said...

  Wow! From adjusting for the environment to simple fix to manufacturing =
quality control, a lot of great ideas and suggestions. All of which I =
can see as potential culprits. The thought of actually contacting Yamaha =
about this never actually occurred to me, so I will do that as well. =
First, I'm going to print out all of these responses so I can reference =
them.=20

  Thanks to all for the support. I will report back when I have results.
