The pins are only a 1/4" into a iron plate = and the hole for the pin is oval with the pin nestling in the hole. = Binding both at the top and bottom. To tune push in slightly on the tuning lever to raise or lower the pitch = as you turn the pin. Once the hole is worn out I have not heard of a way to repair that is = really reliable.=20 The last one we had went to the dump. Beautiful old case but impossible = to hold pitch.
