Hi Dave,

How long have you been working at the tuning? Often, new technicians are
not patient enough and try to hasten the process. If you are training with
a mentor on a regular basis (weekly) then I'd give it a couple of years. If
you are learning on your own (correspondence course or bits and pieces, here
and there) it might take a lot longer.

My suggestion is to have an examiner in your chapter give you a
pre-screening test and explain to you all of the aspects of the exam
process. Take your time, learn well.

List:

Is there a maximum time window for completing all three tests in the RPT
exam?

I have heard mixed comments on this question and would like to clear it up
in my mind.

I think I'm doing fairly well for the written and repair / regulation
aspect, but the aural tuning part is ' slow going ' for me at this point.

Not sure if I should take the first two, if I'm not ready for the third.

Thanks in advance
