Thump asks: Player Piano Valves and Gaskets????? Yea, go ahead and use it! The repair work helps to keeps me in business!!! After all, I HAVE replaced Oil cloth that jerks used to recover pumps and reservoirs, valves made from inner tube punchings (That's what they use to put into all tires to hold the air in the tire), Silicon Caulking applied to ALL of the joints in place of gaskets, and more....much more. Please folks, if you work on a player, use material as close to the original as possible. They worked, they lasted, and the same applies today! I have personally played a Gulbransen that was made in 1922 in 1994. That's 72 YEARS! I know, that does not apply to most players, but conditions must have been just right on that piano.
