Terry, Mike, List,
If leather bushings are that much superior for not much increase in cost,
why don't we all use them regularly? Is there something about them that
makes fitting, installation, etc., more difficult? From what experience
says, it seems like we should be putting leather bushings in. What gives?
Respectfully,
William R. Monroe

Thanks Michael. I have already ordered a bunch of both thicknesses from
Jugen Goering at Piano-Forte Supply. I suspect it is from the same source
(but not sure). He went all the way to Germany for me to get it! Now that's
service!

Terry,
If you are only going to do one set of bushings in leather I suggest
you buy the material from Renner. They sell it in strips and in two
different thicknesses. The quality is very high also. This material is very
expensive to buy by the skin as I do if you are only going to do one or two
sets. Mike Blackstone Valley Piano

Anyone have a recommended source for leather key bushing material?
I use the Spurlock key bushing sytem with mortise sizing cauls. I've
never done leather key bushings before, but might soon. Any comments or
suggestions/tips?
