If cost savings (as well as professionalism) is important then don't print
them yourself! If you add the cost of the card stock and ink together then
printing them yourself is very expensive unless you only need a few dozen
"special" cards. The print shop down the street from me does 500 very nice
basic black on white cards for $25, much less than half the cost of doing
it myself. As well, the stock is thicker with sharp edges and the
professional-looking raised ink won't run if it gets wet like cards printed
on an ink jet will.
