Nope. The 9' Chickerings were there, but the Kimball
organ ( in the ballroom, not the main auditorium
Aelian-Skinner ) had the 9' Kimball-Welte hooked up to
play from it. I'm guessing that Kimball didn't want an
Ampico product connected to their organ. I came by the
piano through circuitous serendipity
( Luck ).
By the way: Doug Hunt, international expert and
curator for organs at the Cathedral of St. John the
Divine in N.Y., said, when asked by me, that this
Kimball was the best-made organ he had ever seen.
Held up far better to the sea-breezes, than the A-S.
Ask Robin Hufford, if you have more questions. He
got one of the Chickerings, and was "instrumental" in
returning the Kimball to N.J..
