Hello to all,
The Foundation needs the following Pianos.
A piano with the Wurlitzer " Uni-Lock" tuning system.
They were made in grands under the Apollo and Wurlitzer
names. Also perhaps under the Dekalb, Farney, and Schaff
Bros. in both Grand and Uprights.
This system like the "Wegman, " looks the same from the
front but uses no wood, only metal in the tuning " block ."
Check from the rear on uprights or under pins on a Grand.
Also any info. you may have or can find on the "Tom
Thumb. All Tom Thumb,S have 61 notes is 41 in tall and 41in
long.
Often people will call any small piano Tom Thumb.
The "Pinafore" by Gulbransen and the "Melodigrand" by
Winter are good examples.
Also info. on a miniature that may have been made by
"McDonald" in Penn.
It has 40 notes, 32 in.tall, 28 1/2 in long and 16 1/2 deep
piano action. dampers, plate, bridges, sound board, strings,
"mono cord" and tuning pins. Built like an old English Upr.
We now have a line Wegman in Dayton Ohio.
Thanks to Mike Kurta of N.Y.
Regards to all,
Jack Wyatt
