superglue burning eyes

Yes, I have had very good results; I have only been using this method
(I have conversely never had any luck with the old pin dope stuff) for
about a year, and I would assume that it would last only as long as the
piano was in a good humidity environment; but if the environment is
good, I would assume the repair should last many years.

the alternative would be to replace the pinblock (not cost effective
for verticals), or try to repin the piano; even if repinning was
somehow a better choice, that could still be done, I feel, if the super
glue repair "wears off", years down the road, or if the results were
not immediately satisfactory.

for grands, be absolutely sure you pull the action, cover the keybed
with plastic and then cover the plastic with something absorbant, like
old newspapers; every few minutes, check to see if the glue is seeping
through the pinblock, and make sure if it is, that it is not running
off the newspaper! I had a nasty surprise awhile ago since I didn't
plan for that event; got on my pants (ruined them of course), the
keytops, and a little bit on the floor; all is well now, except for the
pants, since I was able to clean things up, but the glue WILL OFTEN
leak through!

for putting verticals on their back, Home Depot has or had a great
light weight appliance type dolly which works great for me. I get the
some other handy male to help me lower the piano down to the floor.
