Backcheck noise

I'm not sure I know how to precisely identify.  I have not probed yet but
the problem seems to be growing as the piano gets more play.

Assuming it really is Ecsaine and not some other pretender, 
have you probed under the covering and/or under felt with a 
needle or something to check for glue misplacement, 
displacement, saturation, or some other strange mutation?
