WOW!! I saw GOLD PAINTED tuning pins!

We have a bloke here near us, who specialises in spraying everything gold. He is known as "The gold spray king', and he sprays everything from hammers to strings and pins. These are generally very old bangers, no worth much, however he calls this 'reconditioning'. Tuners hate him, because he rips people off, and sells these junk pianos with the guarantee that he will give them what they paid for it on a new piano, when ever they wish to trade in. Usually it is not long after they have bought the crap piano, and they have no where else to go, because their piano is worthless. Do you guys have these idiots over there too?
We are the bogy men because we are called in to tune them, we tell the owner that they have purchased a dud, and we leave with our tails between our legs, after charging a call fee, and we are the worst in the world.
The law can do nothing about him.
Most people think if it looks good, it must be good, and if it sounds crook, then they either would not know, or explain it away by, 'It just needs a tune"!!!!
He probably has a relation over there.
Cheers.

Why would anyone paint the pins and strings gold? Ive seen so many of
these and they are so bizarre I just cant fathom the idea or the
effort required to do such a neat job. Not unlike a Mirror-piano :-0
