Well, I have great expectations! It is not up and running yet. Which is a real bummer because I am in the middle of building three soundboards and a couple bridges - lots of bandsaw dust and drum sander dust - and its all over the shop (cough, cough, cough...).

I can be a fairly resourceful fellow, but when it comes to electricity, I'm well behind the curve. I've got the wiring installed, but not hooked up to the motor - there are three wires coming out of the wall and six or seven coming out of the motor - I just haven't pursued input on which one goes where.

And then there is the ducting thing. I haven't got that installed yet. I spent a lot of time trying to locate the recommended ASTM 2729 thin-wall six-inch PVC piping and failed. To the best of my knowledge it doesn't exist! I guess I'll have to settle for the next thicker stuff. And I haven't picked that up yet because I haven't installed a hitch on my car to pull a trailer for the pipe (although I did finally get a license plate for the trailer).

It's just all this stuff. Stuff, stuff, stuff. It keeps getting in the way of things I want to do!

I'll definitely report in when I get 'er in gear.

Hey Terry, how did that new dust collection system you were installing turn out? Is it up and running?

I’m curious about the noise level and how you dealt with that, and how happy you are overall with the system.
