There is an easier way to set a string to the fork. It won't have the potential
to appear dorky or maybe wreck your teeth or warm the fork with your 
hot breath.

Listen to the fork and the note you are setting, count the beats. Tune the note
an octave lower sharp or flat by that beat rate, check lower note 
with the fork.
Adjust the upper note by any resulting beats. Check upper note against fork
and adjust lower note by any resulting beats. It's easier than it sounds.

If nothing else, it looks more professional.

I used a C fork (before VT) and always set C4 beatless to the fork in 
this manner.
