Yesterday I had one of my hardest days I ever had in my life as tuner. That
really made me feeling bad, just like Charlie Brown. Now I am convinced that
I really need an ETD very urgent!

I had a narrow escape from the "Texas Tuning Massacre". I was called by a
pub owner for a concert tuning on an 1920 Hupfer upright in a quiet good
condition. The Problem was that is was on 443 Hz, but they needed 440 Hz
because it was a concert with an accordion (French Chansons). It took me 3
hours 15 minutes and some cigarette breaks to tune it. I made 2 complete
passes and a third for the discant. Particularly the frame crossover
sections were a horror show. I tuned one string, did the unisons and then
tested the octave again. Just detuned! Same procedure repeated some times.
After all I felt like blood coming out of my ears, but I survived!

After coming home, the first thing I did was ordering a HP IPAQ hx2790
pocket pc on an online shop. It will arrive this week, so I will try to get
familiar with that wifi technology to order and download verituner pocket.
Now I feel better.

Gregor
