I bought the Schaff #217 shank knurler a few years ago, tried it a few
times and was not happy with it at all. I'd be happy to pass it on to
someone for 50% of cost. Or eventually I'll put it on eBay, when I get
to it.

I later searched around and got a REAL knurler.

Ed,
Schaff makes a #75 Reducer, #291 Shank Knurling Pliers, and #217 Hammer
Shank Knurler. I strongly recommend the #217 knurler, even though it is
the most costly of the 3 tools. Knurl for a loose fit - the moisture in
the glue will swell the shank and make a nice tight joint.
