    Hi John:
    I used one of these for years, but had trouble over time with the 
heating element burning out.  I'm now using a barbeque lighter with an 
adjustable flame.  It doesn't have a warmup time, easy to control, doesn't 
char the shank and is even cheaper.
Be careful of setting the piano on fire-DAMHIK !
