Brass but plates

Greetings, 

            On an old upright, instead of flanges on the ends of the hammer 
butts there is a brass plate system of attatchment to the action rail. If the 
corners of the brass plate in the paino are broken off, can one replace the 
entire brass butt plate? In a shop, Are they easy to remake?How many hours would 
this job take?
