When you are preparing an old soundboard for repairing cracks and refinishing, perhaps for coating with epoxy to reinforce, is a slower, gentler drying speed better for the board? Can making a board to desorb too quickly cause fiber damage or other damage? When drying out an older board my monitoring rule for the heat is that I don't let a board get too warm to the touch. I used to let it gently dry for a couple of weeks and see the cracks open up and stop expanding. However, I would like to speed up this process if possible. I have used various methods: heater bars, lamps and a dehumidfier. Comments please. Thank you. Bob Hull __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
