I handle the Hallet & Davis pianos and they are made in a couple of different places. I am pretty sure the uprights are made by Dungbi. Didn't take time to check the spelling, but that's what you get for listening to a beginner. FYI, I think this statement is semi-incorrect. I believe the Hallet-Davis is made by the Beijing Piano Co. as one of their several stencil pianos. According to Joe Swenson, tech rep at Geneva International, the Nordiska is made in a seperate manufacturing facility on the Beijing Piano "campus", and recently benefitting from lots of input from Geneva International in the area of quality control, improved scale design, etc. It's a very good thing your dealer friend is doing right by the customer, and I hope the manufacturer will be interested in fixing the quality control problems in the factory, not the customer's home.
