Tenor/Bass break-Steinway M

I use 1 1/2" brass stock and precut it into 1/2" pieces. Brass is nice
because it's heavy, easy to cut and drill and doesn't rust. Each one weighs
about 120 grams. I predrill a hole through the center and stack them
depending on how many I will need. Once I determine the number, I swab some
PVC-E glue between each one so they don't vibrate against each other. A bit
of PVC-E between the soundboard or bridge will prevent the same problem. At
the end of the tenor bridge there are three so the total weight is 360
grams. On the underside at the top of the bass bridge there are two which
was about the maximum that I could fit there anyway. It's determined
empirically. Install, listen, change, listen... Until you get what you are
after.

Dave,
Someone else asked and I'll ask again. How much weight have you added...inre
the pictures you posted. These are brass weights, right? Why brass rather
than something else?
