?

If anyone is trying to find replacement hammer flanges for Yamaha and Kawai
uprights, Pacific Piano (818-700-2100) can now supply them (made by Tokiwa).
They also have lots of other action parts, some of which are not yet shown
in their catalog.

Does anybody have a technique for replacing hammer return spring cords on
pianos--mostly consoles, I would think--that have wood flanges without the
screw-in center pin holding plates? Is it a better bet to replace the
flanges? I would think so, but I think the time might end up being a wash,
and I hate to waste materials...besides, if it's a grey market unit, getting
parts might be a problem.

Any tips or suggestions are more than welcome.

Thanks

Dave,

I'm the list resident "replace the cords not the flanges
expert" -self appointed I might add--- but on the actions without the butt
plates I will be replacing flanges from now on.

You are correct about the time issue.
