David: I use a DeWalt 621 2hp softstart with a foot treadle from Harbor Freight. Never had a problem. Takes about 20 seconds. Use eye, ear, protection, and do it naked if you want to avoid dust everywhere. Of course, it raises the "fear factor". :-) Paul "If you want to know the truth, stop having opinions" (Chinese fortune cookie) In a message dated 04/25/07 22:07:35 Central Daylight Time, davidlovepianos at comcast.net writes: Do you mean ¾ or 3 ¼ HP? David Love davidlovepianos at comcast.net www.davidlovepianos.com I use a $180, 3/4 horse Freud soft start variable speed at half the rpms. It's not near so scary. I always have my thumb on the off switch. Done many no problems. Stay focused & undistracted. Going once........ going twice........ All done in 40 seconds of dust Dale See what's free at AOL.com. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
